Forward for liberty
The 2026 theme for Milwaukee Armed Forces Week is “Forward For Liberty.” This year is a special year as Armed Forces Week is celebrated during America’s 250th anniversary. On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Liberty Bell celebrations will be taking place nationwide and a new U.S. Semiquincentennial Bell will be cast with women’s contributions in mind.
“Our theme, Forward for Liberty, highlights our nation’s 250th anniversary as we reflect on the past, honor the contributions of our military and their families, and look to the future," says Tom Buck, president of Milwaukee Armed Services Committee (MASC).
